Warm weather and training hard has me craving some cool treats to recover and fuel my muscles with the protein they need!
This delicious pudding is loaded with calcium, antioxidants, potassium, protein and yummy chocolate!
Be sure to eat your protein recovery pudding within an hour (preferably 1/2 an hour) after an intense workout.
Use your favorite chocolate protein powder and for the cacao, opt for the best organic high quality cacao you can find. You are only using a little bit of it so it will last, go for the good stuff :)
This recipe also calls for avocado and banana. Opt for ripe fruits.
1/2 cup chocolate protein powder
1 ripe medium avocado diced into chunks
1 medium banana diced into chunks
1 heaping Tablespoon good quality cacao powder
1 1/2 cups almond/cashew/hemp or coconut milk
1 Teaspoon fresh lemon juice
Dash of sea salt
1 Teaspoon pure vanilla
1 Teaspoon stevia or truvia (optional)
Blend all ingredients and refrigerate for at least an hour to set! makes 4 servings.
If you like ice cream (who does not??) you can also freeze this mix in an ice cream maker for a decadent chocolate protein ice cream!!
